About the Talk.

Giles English is the co-founder along with his brother Nick of  the Bremont Watch Company. Bremont is a luxury, aviation themed British watchmaker based in England. Annual production is approximately 8,000-10,000 pieces.

Giles grew up in and around aviation and inherited both this passion, and the love of engineering, from his father. In 1995 Giles sadly witnessed his father and his brother have a terrible plane crash, his father died but his brother Nick survived against all odds.

The brothers then and started Virtue Broadcasting; pioneering audio and video on the internet; when it listed in 2000 Giles was the youngest Director on the UK Stock Exchange.

Bremont was founded in 2002, after 5 years development they went to market in 2007. Passion and dedication has grown Bremont to be in the top 10 chronometer producers in the world today with global retail coverage. The brothers unique approach to product and marketing has built a strong business and brought watch making back home to Britain.

In 2013 Giles was involved in a serious aeroplane crash in his 1930’s Gipsy Moth. He broke his back in multiple places but has luckily gone on to make a full recovery and his enthusiasm for life is stronger than ever.

Since its founding, Bremont have received awards in various fields: HSBC Global Connections, overall winner, 2013; UK Retail Jewellery Awards, double winner, 2013; Luxury Briefing Awards, ‘Breakthrough Brand’, 2012; UK Jewellery Awards, ‘Watch Brand of the Year Award’, 2011.

Our Venue

The Like Minds Business Breakfasts are held at the stunning Luxury Business Members Club 12 Hay Hill in London’s Mayfair. If you are interested in membership please ask for a tour of the club after the event. 12 Hay Hill is becoming the luxury business venue for established London-based entrepreneurs and emerging international figures.

Our Format

The format is informal networking over a breakfast of tea, coffee and pastries, before a brief talk followed by a Q&A session. Guests are invited to stay for as long as they like afterwards and use the 12 Hay Hill co-working space.

A short interview with each speaker will be shot and the event will be blogged and posted in the Articles section of the site by the end of the week.
