Terms for Booking Events

These terms, together with our General Terms above, set out the basis on which we offer you tickets to our events (events).  You need to accept these terms in order to complete the on line booking process requesting a ticket for an event.

After completing your booking request, you should receive an e-mail from us acknowledging that we have received your booking. The contract between us will only be formed if you have received this booking confirmation email.  If you have not received this confirmation and believe you should have done please contact us.

The full cost of the event will be charged to you at the time of booking.  Tickets are not transferable or refundable except as set out below.

The re-sale of tickets by anyone other than us is strictly prohibited and may invalidate the ticket. Any ticket sold for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than Like Minds will be invalid for entry.

All bookings are subject to VAT and we will charge you at the appropriate rate.  As you know the government changes this rate and we will charge you the rate applicable at the time of your booking.

To gain the benefit of a discount you must enter the code provided when you enter your payment details.  Discounts will be provided on a first come first served basis up to the publicised limit.  There is no refund available if you fail to enter the code at the time of paying for your ticket t.  Therefore, please check the amount of your transaction before completing.

Cancellation, Refunds and Transfers

Cancellations received by us at least 30 days before the event will result in a full refund.  Thereafter (unless the Consumer Cancellation paragraph below applies to you) there is no refund. At this point in time we will have contractually committed to the venue, speakers and equipment based on the bookings at that point in time.

You may transfer a booking from you to someone else on line and free of charge but this will only be possible up to 14 days prior to the event.  At this point in time we will commit to badge and avatar printing, the distribution of attendee lists and, if appropriate, allocation of attendees to groups.

If we cancel the event, you will be entitled to a full refund.  This will be credited to the card used to pay for the booking as soon as practicable.  If we postpone an event then we will offer you the option of transferring to the postponed event or having a full refund.

All refunds will be to the card used to pay for the booking.

Consumer Cancellation

This paragraph only applies if you are going to attend an event as a consumer and not as part of your day to day business, for example if you are a student.  If this applies to you, then you are also entitled to cancel an event booking at any time within seven working days of the day after you received our booking confirmation email. To do this you must inform us in writing, and you will receive a full refund.

The Event

We work hard throughout the year to bring you some of the best speakers from around the world but sometimes people get ill or something else beyond our control happens.  Therefore, we reserve the right to make any alterations to the advertised format, venue, programme or speakers without being obliged to offer refund or exchange.

Where an event includes an immersive and workshop or similar elements that have limited numbers places will be allocated on a ‘first come’ basis.  We will email you details of these closer to the event date with instructions on how to select your immersive.  Once you have made your choices these cannot be changed.

Please note that ‘immersive’ and workshop places vary depending on the topic, venue and facilitator.

You understand that events such as musical and film events while carefully chosen by us are outside our control and that the format and content may be altered at short notice.

Conduct at the Event

We the right to refuse admission if we have reason to believe you are unfit to attend or your behaviour is inappropriate. Each venue will have its own rules and regulations with which you need to comply as well as all relevant statutes and safety announcements.

You acknowledge that we are entitled to conduct security searches or ask for identification as a condition of entry.

You may not use cameras or any other electronic or digital recording, photographing or imaging devices during the event without permission. Mobile phones and pagers must be set to silent at all times.

You consent to the recording and filming of yourself as a member of the audience.

We can accept no responsibility for any personal property at an event.

Breach of any of these conditions or any unacceptable behaviour likely to cause damage, nuisance or injury will enable us or the venue to eject you from the venue.
