Live advertising used to be something that happened in person. A sales rep would set up a stall and then do something “in real life” to promote their products. Usually, it would involve something along the lines of a product demonstration or competition.

Live advertising, however, evolved considerably over the last few years. Companies recognized that they could use online streaming tools like Periscope, Facebook Live, and YouTube to communicate with audiences directly, instead of passively through other digital channels.

The marketing landscape, therefore, is likely to change forever. Cheap live streaming services have made it possible for even the most niche companies to provide their audiences with real-time updates on their products and services. It is a game-changer.

Here are some of the reasons why live advertising is the future of marketing.

It Compels Immediate Action

When people watch a pre-recorded video demonstrating your products and showing the benefits, it helps them learn more about what you do. Unfortunately, though, it doesn’t have that same sense of immediacy that live advertising does. Customers know that they can simply return to the video at another time or, frankly, ignore it outright. When they watch something live, though, they immediately get a sense of urgency that encourages them to take action.

This feature is one of the reasons why live demo funnels are so useful. Conversion rates tend to be higher because audiences can sense the urgency and pressure from the people on screen.

It Is More Authentic

Today’s consumers want all their marketing interactions to be authentic. They’re tired of cookie-cutter marketing approaches that brands use to create unrealistic public perceptions. Live advertising, therefore, is a way to reach out to an audience without sterilizing the interaction. Broadcasting live means that you will inevitably make mistakes and won’t be able to paper over them in the editing stage.

Sure, it sounds like a weakness of the approach, but it is actually a strength and something that many of your customers will appreciate. Live advertising allows them to see the real you.

It Is More Exciting

The traditional advertising approach follows a set format. It is predictable and, for most people, rather dull.

Live advertising, however, keeps people on edge. It allows you to create a sense of tension, which gives you the scope to do something a little different. You don’t have to sanitize your approach. You’re free to tell it like it is!

Live advertising is becoming increasingly accessible for the vast majority of companies. It is something from which they can all benefit.

Two types of companies, in particular, benefit from live advertising: knowledge outfits, such as investment firms, and companies with complicated products, like software vendors.

Live advertising gives you a chance to give your audience a better understanding of the products and services that you offer. You have the scope to fully develop your ideas and educate people on how to take advantage of the value that you provide. In other words, it is a tool that you can use to get ahead of your rivals.
