About the Talk.
Alan Higgins, CFA serves as the Chief Investment Officer for UK at RBS Coutts Bank Ltd., Asset Management Arm. Alan is responsible for the management of the UK based discretionary managed portfolios and contributing towards global investment strategy for the major asset classes. He serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Coutts & Co. He has over 20 years of experience in portfolio management.
Prior to Coutts & Co, he worked at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management
Alan is also a non-executive of the Nestle Swiss and UK pension schemes.
Our Venue
The Like Minds Business Breakfasts are held at the stunning Business Members Club 12 Hay Hill in London’s Mayfair. London, and particularly Mayfair, is noticeably evolving into a global business hub. There is a charming bit of history of the Mayfair area, when Beau Brummell was an iconic figure in Regency England.
On an early summer’s morning in 1813, Beau was lamenting a run of bad luck which had led him to become almost destitute. Wandering round the corner of Berkeley Square towards Hay Hill, he saw something glistening on the floor. It was a crooked sixpence. He took the coin home, drilled a hole in it, and attached it to his watch chain. The coin, almost overnight, changed his fortunes and became his good luck charm.
Whilst at 12 Hay Hill we believe you make your own fortune, we hope that a bit of good luck from the place where Beau found his sixpence won’t do our members any harm…
Today’s business behaviour has changed; it is now international, connected and continuous and 12 Hay Hill is becoming the luxury business venue for established London-based entrepreneurs and emerging international figures. They offer an entirely new class of business environment. Members are now able to enjoy a luxurious Club where they can conduct business, meet with likeminded individuals and dine, all under one roof.
Our Format
We’re delighted to be running monthly Like Minds Business Breakfasts on or around the last Thursday of the month. Sign up to our newsletter on the right to be kept informed of the speakers we’re featuring each month.
The format is informal networking over a breakfast of tea, coffee and pastries, before a brief talk followed by a Q&A session. Guests are invited to stay for as long as they like afterwards and use the 12 Hay Hill co-working space.
A short interview with each speaker will be shot and the event will be blogged and posted in the Articles section of the site by the end of the week.
